A Study on Knowledge and Utilization of Health Centre among Urban Residents.

Abstract
A survey on knowledge and utilization of health center was conducted from 10 to 30 September, 1968 toward 1,112 persons who visited voluntarily at Dong Dae Moon Ku health center.
As the result of this survey, the following conclusions were obtained.
1) Out of the total interviewees, males were 420 persons with 37.7% while females were 692 persons with 62.3% It was found out that females visited the health center more than males.
2) Age distribution of the total interviewees indicated that 24.1% of 1,112 persons was 25-29 years old and age group of 30-34 followed the next with 18.6%.
3) As to educational level of the total interviewees, the highest rates were observed in the group of junior high school graduates in male with 32.1% and primary school graduates in female with 51.4%.
In general, those who are less educated seemed to be utilizing health center more than those who are highly educated.
4) By occupation of the total interviewees, Merchants were the largest with 25.3% and no occupation followed the next with 20.5%.
5) By income per month of the family, 10,000-19,999won were the largest with 40.6% and the group under 10,000won followed the next with 31.6%.
6) By housing status of the total interviewees, His own house was the largest in male with 48.4%, while rented house or room was the highest in females with 43.9%.
7) Relating to utilization of mass media, radio was the most common medium with
72.0% which was followed by newspaper with 55.0%. Radio and news-paper therefore seemed to be very effective media health education for of the public.
8) 49.6% of 1,112 persons interviewed are residing in the areas within 1.9km away from the health center.
9) In relation to the source of information about health center activities, 41.2% of the total interviewees have been informed by neighborers of friends, which was followed by P.H. nurses with 25.0%.
10) The knowledge about the services carried out by the health center was noted;

11) The degree of utilization of the services carried out by the health center was noted;

12) Opinion toward health center activities was noted;
Unkindness; 44.4%
Insufficient facility; 25.3%
Deficity of medicine; 28.8%
Others; 11.8%
